Laser footprint on a motorcycle
My STI alerted me to Laser today. I looked around and he was on the overpass.
It got me to thinking about how difficult it would be to get a fix on me. I suppose
it would be pretty easy with that big headlight assembly. What do you guys think?
BTW when I was headed the other direction about an hour earlier my STI alerted
with POP at the same bridge.

Re: Laser footprint on a motorcycle
Probably pretty easy if the officer has a good aim and can point the beam on the headlight.
The other thing you have to worry about is your helmet. It's pretty easy to get readings off of helmets, especially nice bright shiny ones. From your avatar, though, it looks as if yours is dark.

I do have reflective tape on it though. I was in a 65 mpg zone and probably
doing 8 or so over as I was passing a big rig. The STI went off and I immediately
chopped the throttle. I'm just glad I wasn't passing the way I like to. I'm not
a 100% sure he was shooting my side of the road.

What you have going for you:
Bikes overall size (much smaller then a car)
No front LP (obviously)
Drastic angles (profile) on the front (for aero reasons).
What you have going against you:
Those massive headlights (for a bike), squeezed close together... thats killer.
The color is rather reflective (looks like a silverish).
Nice bike BTW! Kawi FTW! (We have 3 kawi's and one suzuki in are stable).

Well if it helps you any I clocked a bird with my PL3, pretty sure you can get a motorcycle.

Thanks Air. That headlight is nice at night though.

I guess the only thing that could help would be a jammer.
Re: Laser footprint on a motorcycle
You are better off than a car, however, your bike is almost as big as some Chinese cars and your headlight is huge. Besides, you will always need a jammer to be truly immune.
