Disabling X-Band on RX65 - is it worth it?
No cops use X-band in my state, would disabling this band give me any real increase in range for the K/Ka bands? Switching my Ka band to USA gave me a pretty significant boost but I've had but one Ka encounter in the 2 days since I disabled X-band and that was on a residential street so not really a good test. Go figure!
I already have SWS off (as it's completely pointless - unless someone else in FL can chime in and say it's actually used here).
Re: Disabling X-Band on RX65 - is it worth it?
Disabling X band won't increase the range on K/Ka bands. Why? Because disabling X band merely tells the firmware to suppress any X band alerts. X band still has to be swept in order to look for the primary LO signals from other radar detectors, along with looking for the detected higher LO harmonics on K or Ka band, so that your RX65 can suppress false alerts from other radar detectors.

It will however be a whole hell of alot quieter. :)

Do it, unless you like knowing where the X band door openers are  Won't do anything for performance, though.
Word of caution about USA mode. I once came across a LEO running what I guess was a Stalker, but it was shooting out 34.4 (or was it 34.2) Ka, which AFAIK would have been rejected in USA Ka mode.

Thanks for all the answers to his post... answered some questions that I did not even know that I had.

So, basically it's just gonna make my RD quieter. That's a pity. I think I'll turn Ka-international back on also.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
