As some of you may know I picked up the V1 as a replacement to my 9500ix, which had a realm of issues that I couldn't cope with, including the lack of proper functionality of the TrueLock feature. Needless to say I've been using the V1 for just over a week now and LOVE IT!
As mentioned in previous posts, I drive a lot for work. Historically the amount of highway driving I had done was minimal, however now I drive the highway every two weeks or so to see clients in other cities/towns. On my 1.5 hour commute to a smaller town with a colleague we had mounted my new V1 in his vehicle (as he was driving) and sure enough an hour or so in to our commute on a wide open highway with little to no other vehicles we received a low Ka band signal. I immediately told my colleague to slow down, as this was definitely a LEO running Ka band further up the road. Sure enough about 3.2 KM up the road (2 miles approx) there was a LEO sitting on a side road watching vehicles pass. The bogey counter immediately alerted to 2 Ka band signals ahead, which were the front and rear strobes of the LEO (I can't say how much I love the bogey counter and arrows compared to my history with Escort products). So we pass the LEO doing the speed limit on the dot and smile on our way past. My colleague's jaw dropped in amazement to the accuracy and distance the V1 had provided us and he is now planning on getting one in the near future.
Good first save I wanted to share with you all. To those who helped with my decision to choose the V1 as an alternative to my previous Escort detectors, THANK YOU! The range is bar none the best I've ever seen and I'm sure it will provide me countless saves in the future.
