SCION TC buyer's guide...
Apperantly, I am the office car expert  and a coworker is asking me to help her pick out her new car. She is set on getting a Scion TC 06-07 for around $8k. I don't know anything at all about these cars, but they seem to be very well priced and in my first search I have not found them to have many "issues". Does anyone here know what to lookout for on these cars around 30-40,000miles?? or can you at least point me in the right direction? I went to a scion forum but it was relatively new and was really just about modding these cars.
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
The main issue that tends to cause trouble is that these cars are basically Toyotas. This issue can be solved by purchasing a car that is not a Toyota.

LOOK... I am not buying one! RWD FTW...
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
We bought one with 30k miles on the ODO and have since put over 40k more one it. It's great!
It gets good mileage but still has enough "go" to be fun.
It also has tons of space with the back seats down, but is still small enough to "dance" when you want to play in the twisties.
I consider this car to be in the sweet spot of; price, MPG, power, handling and utility.
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
The Scion tC is one of the top 10 most ticketed cars. I guess the "tC" stands for "Ticket Catcher."
I hope your friend can afford some top notch countermeasures... She's apparently gonna need 'em. :D
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
I'm more on the Honda side..I can run 85 mph with A/C and still get 38 Mpg. drive 500 miles with 12 gallons of fuel and its a non Hybrid.
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
You don't need a hybrid to get good gas mileage.
Re: SCION TC buyer's guide...
The TC is very reliable and responds VeRY Well to turbo-charging. <-- Not that the chick would be interested in forced induction.
