Upstate South Carolina (specifically Greenville & Spartanburg) 2010 thread
Feel free to post whatever you know about traffic enforcement for law enforcement agencies in the upstate SC area. I thought we could have a new thread for 2010.
-Greenville County Sheriff... 12 deputies and 2 sergeants assigned to traffic unit, more radar usage than laser. laser very popular in school zones. they have about a half and half mix of unmarked and marked vehicles. the unmarked vehicles are mainly dark/navy blue crown vics. the marked vehicles are a mix of impalas and crown vics. all of the vehicles have front and rear radar (not sure if it is k or ka band)
Traffic unit is part of selective enforcement; they work all over the county, so it's not really easy to predict where you may encounter traffic officers. School zones are good bets, though. They are heavy on the Old Spartanburg Rd/Brushy Creek area during the weekday afternoons.
-Greenville City Police... fairly aggressive traffic unit, 5 if not more unmarked chargers (2 black, 2 dark titanium?, 1 white) all equipped with front/rear radar, no tint. I believe there are a couple of standard marked crown vics in traffic, as well as some marked/slicktop crown vic vehicles.

I typed quite a list of various agencies around here and everytime I try and post it it takes me to a screen with a link to the forum and says "done", but the post does not appear.

That would be the white dodge charger that GCPD has.

A crapload of pics of the Mauldin PD black dodge charger.

Found out today that Mauldin City PD has 3 or 4 black, unmarked Chargers (like the one in the above photos.) The vehicles have push bumpers and heavy tint. On the drivers side in the rear, there looked to be a small city logo/decal. One of the cars had lettering (small) that said "H.E.A.T."

greenville city PD also has a silver unmarked Charger. I'm wondering if they didn't just order some in every color.
simpsonville PD still has two mustangs. one is silver, the other is a dark/navy color. not the most recent body style. saw them parked in the police lot. both unmarked.
Re: Upstate South Carolina (specifically Greenville & Spartanburg) 2010 thread
I lived in Greenville a little over a year ago. Coming from North Carolina the law enforcement seems pretty relaxed. The only real cheapshot that I saw down there and saw it often was on I-85 South right past Spartanburg the speed drops from 70 to 60 but there is no reduce speed ahead sign. This caught me offguard a couple of times, it is real easy to miss the 60 sign.
