I'm about to pull the trigger on an HP Quad but I wanted to install the system with the PA switch. On the RadarBusters product page it says the switch is not recommended for the HP system - why not?

My guess is that it has to do with the vertical beam that is transmitted along with the horizontal beam. It probably doesn't give accurate distances and might even bounce off of your own bumper or the road. So to avoid accidents and confusion, it isn't recommended.
Just a guess...
Thanks, hopefully Cliff will chime in here...
The PA/JAM switch is not compatible with our HP models because of the increased output from the additional Laser Diode found in the HP Models.

I'm not sure I get why this would only affect an activation switch - wouldn't this suggest that PA mode just doesn't work very well (or at all) on the HP models?
You are correct! The PA Mode is deactivated on our HP Models when shipped.
EDIT: All LI's shipped after Jan 2011 are now compatible with our PA.

Got it, thanks!
