Hi Everyone,
I just ordered the LI Dual. Two questions:
1) Do the HP transceivers make a big difference?
2) Will the regular transceivers be adequate for a black midsize car with no front plate?
Thanks!

Might help if we knew what car or had pictures.
Depends on the car. There's a lot more to it than size and licence plate. For most mid-size passenger cars, the regular Dual LI is quite sufficient for the front. But you'd still need at least two more heads for the back. Yes, you do. Don't argue. ;)
If you'll give us a straight-on pic of the front of YOUR car, we can tell you for sure.
Yes, the HP is well worth the extra money. It's the difference between being "safe" and being bulletproof. But very few installations absolutely require it. If you're driving a BMW, congratulations. You're one of those "very few."
EDIT: The reason we ask for photos is because grilles and accessories vary, making huge differences between similar cars. Yes, you can post pics.
Here is a front on photo. This is grey, mine is black... same grill and badging. My hybrid does not have the fog lights, just a black plastic cover.
I think a sensor in the third slot up on each outer side would cover all the critical area and take the detection range below 500 ft.... based on what I have seen and read on here anyway...

You'll be good with a regular LI.
I was hoping so. I may invest in the rear transceivers down the road, but here in Ohio every Laser alert I have had has been from the front. I think that is partly because most bridges are older and dangerous for a LEO to just sit on. It's probably also due to me not detecting them on the rear too...
Thanks for any and all feedback.
You would probably never receive a laser alert from the rear unless it was from an extreme long range.
Rear Lidar shots are becoming more and more popular. Even in GA where it's illegal they still use rear shots. I've had 2 members here in the ATL area say they were only installing front heads only to be tagged with rear Lidar within a month and get a ticket.
You get a false sense of security and the next thing you know it bites you. I would strongly recommend getting a quad and be fully protected.
Rowan, thanks for editing the photo. Those are the locations I was thinking as well...
