Ford's New Interceptor Will Be Mean, Green & never last.
Here we go again. A newer piece of sh1t. @ least this time they are admitting that they had a problem with the Crown Vic that killed a bunch of cops. I have a nice scar on my left wrist where I broke the spot light handle in half with my wrist. I was in a head on collision 70mph with a carjacker. Oh yea..My airbags deployed 1.8 seconds after the collision. I am a Ford man all the way but their police cars suck ass.

Yeah Ford has never liked solving issues with their cars... they always seem to drag their feet.
Remember the internal memo's about the Ford Pinto scandal? (Where the higher-ups simply said... would it cost more to fix all the cars or pay the probable fees due to deaths... fixing was more expensive they assumed, so they simply let people die and paid off cases as they came.)
Then the Crown Vic PI issue: "Yeah... we realize you guys get rear-ended more than any other people on the road, but instead of fixing a design issue, we'll just try to cob a fire-suppression system in there for you..."
Then the whole suing the United States Government years earlier because Ford loved Nazi's and built plants in Germany.
Yeah... not a huge Ford guy.

I wish they had a shot of the tail lights, so we can get familiar. What I always loved about the CV were the distinctive tial lights. You can always spot those when your closing in on them, and get a chance to slow down. Without such a universally identifiable intercepter, things are a little bit harder.
Re: Ford's New Interceptor Will Be Mean, Green & never last.
Dam Airmoore you brought up the memo. I totally forgot about that. That was a big deal.
I wonder who else forgot about it besides Ronald Reagan?

It probably has the same taillights as the Taurus. I guess it's a good thing only MILs and geezers buy Tauruses nowadays.
But then, the Taurus? One of the most unreliable marquees in the auto industry? How long before some LEO in one of these new PIs guns it to catch up to someone and ends up with transmission parts all over the roadway? ;)
Found On Road Dead.
Re: Ford's New Interceptor Will Be Mean, Green & never last.
Isn’t this a Taurus? How is a big boy going to fit in this thing with all the gear and boots? I just rented one and was amazed how much space the interior design took away from being comfortable. The full size cars are the way to go.
If you watch the chase vids on youtube the Impala would pull away from the Crown Vic over 100mph up to 150. I had a 94 model and it would move for a big heavy car. Especially above 60 it would pull.

I still believe ford dropped the ball with these. AWD and uni-body construction are going to kill these off in most states. Okay sure, they will work in the northern states, but their repair costs and upkeep will be crazy. Doing a simple PIT could bend the frame and then it will never drive the same, the P71 was body on frame which could stand a lot more and be easily bent back into place.
The new Caprice and Charger will take over. Atleast they will here in CA. CHP mostly runs P71s, but now I have to watch for the damn chargers.....

I fail to see your point, unless it's all about the AWD.
