I've got a couple noob questions...
I'm looking into getting a V1 since I just need something simple but reliable and sensitive. However, I was wondering, how does the V1 perform picking up scattered infrared from LIDAR? Like off of traffic ahead of me or off of other cars passing around shallow curves?
Also, one of my most traveled freeways has a part that runs literally right next to the perimeter fence of an air force base and it's a favorite area for the CHP to pick people off. Will I have problems with false radar signals there?

1. The V1 is THE BEST in the business for laser
2. Don't depend on it to save you from laser or else you will get yourself a ticket
Now, glad we have that out of the way.
I don't know about the second one.
If you want laser protection, you need a Laser Interceptor.
Re: I've got a couple noob questions...
I'd love to get laser interceptor, but being in California, I'd be at risk of attracting more attention than I'd keep away. If a cop couldn't get any reading on an old Jeep Cherokee in a state where laser jammers are banned, that would probably look suspicious.
Re: I've got a couple noob questions...
v1 is as good as it gets.
Re: I've got a couple noob questions...
V1 is a great detector and it's laser reception is at the top of the pack for a window unit. But dont count on laser scetter to save you.
I don't know enough about the military facility or what they are doing in it to comments directly to the second question. However, the V 1 would be best in this situation (assuming the military facility is giving off radar signals) because you will learn the number of radar sources on your trip. If you notice an addition source on your bogy counter, you will know that it is a LEO.

You have much to learn young grass hopper.
Once your jammer alerts, you slow down, then shut it off so he can get a reading.

Then you go back to the cop and start chatting with him about Hey how you like that jammer, couldnt get a reading huh---oh wait thats another thread and topic.. DO NOT DO THIS
Re: I've got a couple noob questions...
I have been hit with laser 5 times so far this summer, only one time did I get scatter as the 2 cars ahead of me got hit, then I did as the LeO was right in front of me. I was able to slow down , because I was using my rabbit.. They other times if I was speeding I would have had a ticket.

This link provides a good example Laser Detector Defense Techniques - Mounting

It's been my experience to pick up little to no false X/K/KA RADAR signals very close to the bases I have drove around/Thru. Every base is different but unless you are running a V1 w/POP on KA guard off might the only way you will possibly pick up the false depending on how close you are to the source, even then unlikely and U probably picked up another RD.
