Does anyone know if it's possible to disable JUST the green LED part of the STI-R+ alert LED? I want the alert LED portion to still work but don't want a constant green LED on my dash. Thanks.

black electrical tape.
But then how would I see the red alert portion?? See what I mean?? Right now I don't even have it installed but would love to be able to.
It's a dual function LED, that will block both the power and alert lights.
The easiest way to do this is probably to clip the lead from the LED itself. There are 3 leads coming out of the LED. A stepped (square looking) lead, a center lead, and an angled lead. The center lead is common, leave it alone. The stepped lead is the red alert LED. The angled lead is the green power LED. Clip the angled lead to disable the green power light.
Great! Exactly what I was looking for - wasn't sure if that would be the best way or going through the modular connector. Any idea which one to disconnect if I did cut/reattach the modular jack?

Big Kudos to EscortRadar for not only telling a customer how to modify their product, but not threatening about a voided warranty to boot!
Great bit of advice. The Passport hardwired smartcord I got for my RX-65 had a very bright led that was at the perfect angle to blind me. I ended up going to a local tint shop in town and asking them if they had any really dark tint scraps that they were throwing away. They gave me a few and I put small pieces over the led to dim it but still keep it noticeable.
Just do a continuity test to see which wire is which or pull away some of the heatshrink near the LED end. I don't have a meter handy ;)
Can't you just use an AA (or 3) and see which color lights up?
Ive done this mod to my STi-R and my SRX. Works great. The red alert light does its thing without making the interior of my cars glow green. (That green LED is too bright for night use IMHO)
