A long time ago I saw a company that advertised a battery pack you could velcro to your detecter to power it. Could someone whip one up himself and how would they exactly do it. Would it need an inverter to run it??
anyone know? :?

All you should need is 12-14VDC and the ability to supply the max-rated current. The issue is going to be capacity (run-time) and size. After a while the batteries will run down below their rated voltage and the detector might work but who knows how well.Quote:

I have a Passport 4600 that I've powered with only 5V. The thing powers up and looks normal, however it doesn't detect anything and you get a lot of laser falses....
