    Default Recommendations for RD makers

    1) Flash upgradable by users via a PC

    2) GPS

    3) Multiple threat display (4 Ka, 4 K, 4 KU, 2 X bands)

The RX65 already has multiple threat display, but only three different bands at a time. Works pretty cool, but I find the frequency output much more useful.

I would like the RD makers to implement the ability to download all alert data, times, dates, (and GPS info if equipped) to my PC, which then resets the internal database, so I can correlate where I was, at what time, and what threats are "normal". It would also be useful for per diem tax purposes! :)

I also _really_ want my RD to be flash upgradeable via PC (perhaps USB connector, or FireWire?) And have Escort/Valentine/Bel/others simply put the latest monthly EEPROM code up on their websites for download!!

Now THAT would be a great customer service action!!

Well if you don't want to wait, and can leave your laptop connected while you drive, my software will let you do this right now with the V1:

I plan on adding GPS capability in the future too

Yeah, I could do all that, but I don't own a V1...got the RX65 instead. I'm happy, of course, and have my reasons (no flaming please), but until Bel allows the internals to be exposed through some type of data port, guess I'm outta luck.

    Default wow!

all these requests/improvements for an item that is just about as big as two cassette tape boxes! i think the big three have done an excellent job with technology so far...fitting in those little boxes! what i find hard to believe are those uninformed drivers who buy cheap-ass Unidens, low end Whistlers, Cobras, Radio Shacks and RMR's! has anybody else come across drivers proudly displaying there *cheap* RD on their dash or windshield doing 20-30mph over the limit? I have..and I have also seen plenty of them on the side of the road with a cop pulling them over as I pass them up!

Yeah, i've seen a couple RMR units and many cheapo RadioShack ones. I don't mind the Whistler stuff so much because it's OK for the $$$ and doesn't set off my POP alert like some others do
