Default VASCAR III PLUS HA ROY?

    Roy,

Do you think Vascar will gain popularity again? I see now they have vascar III Plus. Vascar would be a speeder nightmare since it cant be jammed or detected. On the other hand it is probably a nightmare for the officer to use since it requires a little more work and thought to use. What do you think?

    Think about this,

in Finland there are some 400 non marked police cars doing this!!

Although we have quite good register about them, it's always a threat. Most of them luckily have radar (and they use it while driving) but also there are many "ordinary family cars" equipped with videos and Spectre!!

    Default Sensory Overload

    happya$$,

I tend to agree with your accessment (at lease here in the US today and probably everywhere else in time).

Having spoken to more than one officer about the use of all the technology available to them in their squad cars, officers are definately overtasked!

Other than PA, which is still a big user of VASCAR - because of restrictions placed on local police usage of radar/laser - I believe your feelings are spot on.

They've got enough easy technology to use like radar [and to some lesser degree laser] to catch enough speeders and issue enough tickets til the end of time.

I believe departments will have to make a calculus regarding this updated form of VASCAR. That calculus must include the answer to the question of how much [more] revenue will they see as a result of such a deployment versus the cost [in dollars, effort, safety [to the officer] ] to obtain that revenue.

    At least that my opinion...
