Default MN people how do you mount your RD with our law

If there is any MN people on here how do you mount your RD, mine is mounted on the windshield but low just above wipers on my toyota. Im interested on any other good ideas besides velcro and the stickies it would leave on my dash and potentially ruining it. Is there a better way than velcroing it to dash

    Thanks for your ideas

I believe it is MN or WI that has a law stating you can't mount ANYTHING on your windshield.

Yes that is true, but I never got pulled over for it.
There are now so many GPS and Sat radio devices that hang from the window now. I see them all the time.
I now have hardwired my V1 high so this is a non issue for me. My wife still has hers mounted on the windshield.
If i remember correctly WI is a little more strict on this law though.

Interesting on WI, I spend lots of time in WI and have never been given any issues with it mounted on Windshield.

The hardwire idea is intriguing, what is the advantage of hardwiring, both would need to be removed from windshield before getting pulled over. Is there a disadvantage to a visor mount at all.

I have never been talked to about my radar, or my sat radio, or anything stuck to my windshield. I didnt know that was a law, but now I know. If you mount it high and it doesnt obstruct your view I'm sure you could talk the officer/court out of a ticket. It seems strange that you can have one of those air freshiners hanging from your rvm but nothing stuck to the windshield.

As far as I know, you can mount your rd on the windshield in WI. I do think there is a law in MN that states you cannot mount things from your window but who is going to pay attention to that law? Visor mount or velcro on the dash will work fine if you are worried about such a "stupid" law.

Uhh. . . wouldn't that be a secondary offense - so they would have to find something else to pull you over for first?? You might be safe to assume that this law is no longer exercised and cops won't write a ticket for it.

i live in WI and lots of people have tons of crap hanging from their rear view mirror and on their windshield.

i believe its MN that has that law, but i'm sure its never enforced. if an officer can pull someone over for speeding and take maybe 15 min to make 300 on a speeding ticket, why would they waste probably 20 min pulling you over for something blocking your "view" through your windshield and only getting maybe 50 bucks?

however, if they get you for speeding, they may tack on that as part of the ticket for even more money. i've seen that happen lots with people not using their blinker when moving over lanes: they dont get pulled over just for that (unless its excessive and unsafe) but if they get pulled over for speeding, the'll tack that on sometimes.

    check out this video: http://jasonsvideoproductions.com/allentrap.wmv
they do the extra blinker fine on a black camaro doing 88 somewhere in the video
