Governator -

Dang, sorry to hear that you got nabbed.

But definitely, get out there, and get your VEIL on, and address any other hardpoints, too!

However, even then, in terms of LIDAR, if that's preferred enforcement in your area, all that is still no guranty.

Particularly with a high-mounted detector, there's always a possibility that it may miss a "true hit."

What we're doing, in terms of high-mounting, is taking a gamble, and hoping that we'll see some scatter/reflections - or maybe even get lucky and see "down road" (and even "through" another vehicle's or vehicles' greenhouse) LIDAR use.

It's the value of knowing that, really, you're BEING hit, versus the potential utility and value of knowing that you're about to be hit.

Mike Valentine even concedes this fact on his commercial website - that yes, even with the superior laser-detection capability of the V1 (speaking solely in terms of in-vehicle, stand-alone detectors), it's still possible for a high-mounted V1 to "miss" such true/direct shots.

In your case, your detector did alert to the shot, but as you said, it was too late. In this particular case, the LIDAR, just your bad luck, was able to lock-on to your vehicle before you could haul her down to reasonable/PSL.
