-V1
Having 2 detectors I would love to assign a radar to a specific car and leave it there but I always find myself using the V1 in whatever I drive.
Somehow I dont feel as safe with the 8500
Which car should I use the 8500? V1?
Passat
- no laser counter measure, radar mounts in the center of the windshield
- no plates but i have a huge chrome grill
Lumina
- hardwired high beside rear view mirror
- veil, no plates and black car
Either unit is fine for radar but V1 is tops for laser. Get laser jammers for both cars and then it won't matter which detector you use.
Do you tend to speed more in one car than the other? Put the V1 in that car.

id definately put the V1 in the faster car
I'd use the V1 in both cars as well.
If forced to assign one to each car I'd pair up the 8500 with the Lumina because the Veil, lack of plates and dark colour would compensate for the RD's slightly weaker performance against laser. The V1 would go in the Passat.
You could sell the V1 and put the money towards a couple of jammers.
