I was driving down a rural road in western Illinois this weekend. I was driving through a little speedtrap of a town where the speed limit dropped from 50 to 30. As I came around a bend, the speed limit increased back to 40, and I spotted an unmarked cop car on the opposite shoulder. I slowed down as soon as I noticed him, but he pulled me over and gave me a ticket for 57 in a 40. What really bothered me was the fact that I had my Escort Solo S2 on, and it didn't go off at all! I thought that maybe, despite the fact that he had a newer car and all, that he could be using X-band, which I had turned off at the time. So, I turned X-band back on, turned around and went to see if the cop was still sitting in his speedtrap. He was, and my radar detector still wasn't going off. Yet he pulled someone else over a minute later.
Does anybody have any idea what type of RADAR or LIDAR he could have been using?
