CONFUSED AND JUST UNSURE??? HELP!!

I don't know what the hell to do should i go for the V1 with pop2 and 3.826 or should i go sti for the undetectability i don't live in a area where it is needed but am planning to travel to an area where it is illegal to own and operate a detector...??? But i want the detection of the v1 it seems to be better on laser advanced warnings !!! Which is nice and picks off radar dang good to .... im just so confused ka band is highly used here and i need protection on that but from what ive heard the v1 lacks a little on that as opposed to x and k and laser and the sti preformed better in the ka area but how does it do on laser does it even compare i mean am i going to get scatter alerts like i would with a v1???? DECISON's DECIsons they SUCK!!!!!!!!

I have owned the V1 and I can say this about it. Since KA is going to be your overall biggest threat I say go with the STi on that one. Simply because as many V1 users will tell you the V1 has a tendency to Junk out real KA threats. It happened to me way to many times so I recently sent it back. I have not had the chance to play with the STi yet but it seems from Roy's site and others that the general feeling is the STi has the greatest KA sensitivity overall. Behind that is the RX65 which I do own and I am waiting for it to be repaired for freezing when I change the program settings.

Bottom line it really depends what is your biggest threat. If KA is and you plan on travelling to "forbidden" areas then the STi is good. If LASER is your biggest threat then the V1 you still have a prayer. If K is your biggest threat then the Escort 8500 X50 is the one. If KA and LASER are your biggest threats then I would say the STi because with LASER you must remember most of the time when you get a LASER alert you are pretty much (if speeding) cooked anyways. The STi has decent LASER but I am just repeating what I have read on Roy's site and various others. The decision is yours but now you have some knowledge to go from.

Ace_Racer, the GOL chart shows V1 best on K band.
If I were you alpinestars_2002795 I would buy them both and send back the loser, from your sig money does not seem to be an issue.
Before STI came out V1 was the most stealthest in RDD at only a few hundred feet to pick it up.
The junk out real LEO's suck but it does let you know of the threat before this happens, so worst case you just slow down for a while.
Also look at GOL as I just had a discussion with AirMoore about second best on laser, I thought STI as it appears X50 had it.

Dude, stop yelling, we can hear you fine. As for laser, consider adding a jammer. With the heads down by the plates, you'll be detecting lidar better than a V1.

If you want a stealth V1 you can get a custom one but it'd be far more cost effective to get the STI and a jammer.

Exactly, if Ilived in the US I'd buy a cheaper RD ie RX65 or X50 with good radar protection and a jammer. Best of both worlds for not much more $$

If you are planning on living in a state where RD's are forbidden, I would go with the STi. However, if you are just passing through, I would go with the V1.

THat then defeats the purpose of the undectability ....i think i am leaning towards the sti because im trying to make the stealth mobile.. hmm... still torn somewhat though.???

I myself have never used the sti, but it does have some great reviews.

I personally would still use the v1 - mainly because I own it. So I'm naturally impartial towards it =D.

But either way, the sti is invisible to the rdd's. Its not invisible to cops eyes. Just like the v1. Simple as that - see a cop - take it down - or hide it soo good they won't be able to see it.

V1Dave,

Yea I decided to return the V1 for that reason I didn't like the constant J problem. While just a 2 second warning would be enough I like having bells and whistles that go until the CHP is gone. I am going insane not having "protection" of any sort. This experience has however made me realize just how dependant I am on RD's and this brief departure is teaching me to use my eyes better than before :wink:
