bel rx65 or escort x50?

simple question. i haven't seen an x50 cheaper than an rx65 on froogle. i'm kinda on a budget and the rx65 is looking kinda tasty. if the x50 is REALLY that much better than the bel i'll step up to that, but from what i've heard they're all practically the same. (with the exception of the rear antenna on the v1)

sooooo which one guys? yall are the pros.

Airman,

First of all to choose between the RX65 and the X50 depends upon your 'danger' band(s). I know that if KA is your most threat then the RX65 will be a true keeper. I am very happy with my two (yes 2) one for use, and the second for backup should the first one need repairs or vice versa. And yes if you look at my signature you will see that my first (NON_ROY) is being repaired and I have been without it for 15 business days, 20 actual!) My second (ROY!) is being used right now. Anyways, for KA definately RX65. For K it is a toss up on that one MY general feeling is the K band sensitivity on the X50 is better and also LASER ( compared to the RX65) The V1 is king for LASER, but remember a laser alert mainly means your toast anyways, unless it is scatter you happen to pick up.

So my thing is if KA is your biggest threat then the RX65 is the way to go. But the choice is ultimately yours! PM for further questions

alright well i think i'll be going with the rx65. i borrowed my friend's x50 today and ran with that and had an ass of falses/really chatty. on a 300 mile round trip we hit maybe 2 genuine alerts, out of maybe 30 total alerts. we completely ignored x and k. cops only use ka around here, and not too much laser afaik.

any objections?

Airman,

No objections at all! Just mount it high and if you can try above the rearview mirror, but be careful of the deadly metallic tints! It will kill your radar reception by great amounts. I have that factory blue tint (non-metallic) as for a guideline. If you can it not only increases radar reception, but also makes it more stealthy and harder for thieves to see from the outside. I think with Bel rx-65 new m4 antenna the rx-65 is SO much quieter, than my 2 x50's i owned.I say go with the bel rx-65. But remember keep it out of the sun. My first one fried in the Texas sun.
