I've been driving for over 15 years and only received an out-of-state ticket once in Ga. (I live in NY) 78/65. I paid the ticked within the 30 day period and didn't receive any points. (that was back in '96) Now times have changed considerably, now anything considered speeding will go on your drivers abstract.
I was recently caught doing 83/65 (reckless) in Virgina (dinwiddie Co.) in my personal vehicle. Got a lawyer and it was reduced to 79/65 (reg. speeding) and a $126 bill (court fee/fine). I drive from NY to Charlotte, NC. and ATL, Ga. several times a year, I can't afford another ticket (I have a CDL Linsence) I know the smartest thing to do is drive the speed limit, and I do try , but i've come to the conclusion it's time to invest in a RD. Any recommendations on which will be the best for me? If I could avoid Va. I would, but that's impossible either way I travel to NC. I95/I85 or I78/I81/I77, and it's illegal to use it in the state.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. ( and my apologies, for the excess blogging) Thank you.
