    Default Mounting Questions

I'm trying to make my RX65 less visible.

    1) Can I use magnets to mount?

    2) Can I spray paint the case? (obviously protecting sensor panels)

3 Can I remove it from its case to operate within a differenct covering?

    Thx

    1. no magnets !!!!

    2. If you would like but if you ever have to send it into the company for service they reallly are going to be pissed about it...

    3. Ya but not a good idea.....

Do this if you can. Mount your detector exaclly in front of you on a piece of velcro or use the suction cup mount if you can't. This will make it much much less visable to anyone following you. I have done this for years and it really works. Just recently I found a little leather consumer electronics case from some gadget for a buck and mounted my Bell inside it to make it even more stealthy... 8)

I would say NO on all 3 questions.

Magnetic field around your detector is an awful idea.

again, as posted above.. as it won't necessarily hurt performance, what if you need to send it in? If I were the manufacturer, I'd send it right back, unfixed.

Unless you can manufacture a magnesium casing, I wouldn't bother.

If you want to conceal it- I would recommend just to mount it high toward your roof. If you are pulled over, an officer will not be able to see it.

I would vote against spray painting it, because that will just be a mess.

My vote is to hardwire and mount high.

Also, instead of using magnents, have you thought of double sided velcro?
