I'm calling BS on SML's 2006-2007 K band POP mode test. Here is why.

That is BS. There is no way all those detectors did so Well against an MPH Z-25 K band POP mode. The POP mode on a Z-25 is only 16ms!!!! I have done extensive testing with the 16ms POP mode and found that only 2 detectors can detect it and not very well! The STi and the V1 are the only ones. And I have never seen a radar detector detect 16ms POP 3 times in a row! In fact only RacerX's STi is the only radar detector I've seen detect 16ms k band POP 2 times in a row. On average a V1 will detect K band 16ms POP 1 out of 10 times, the STI's I've tested 2 out of 10 times on average. Neither detectors provide any real world protection from 16ms POP. All other detectors do not alert AT ALL to 16ms K band POP!
Here are the only 4 radar guns that have POP mode. All are made by MPH Industries:
MPH Industries BEE III - 67ms POP - Available in K or Ka band.
MPH Industries Enforcer - 67ms POP - Available in K or Ka band.
MPH Industries Z-35 - 16ms POP - Available in K band only.
MPH Industries Z-25 - 16ms POP - Available in K band only.
1 of 4 things could explain why SML's K band POP test results are BS:
1. There is an error on SML's web page and they actually used a BEE III or Enforcer K band unit for the K band POP test.
2. SML used a MPH Z-25 and did not correctly operate it in POP mode. (A common mistake for people not familiar with the Z-25 or Z-35 POP mode.)
3. SML used the MPH Z-25 POP mode correctly in their test and they are lying their a$$ off about the results.
4. The radar detectors provided to SML were extremely juiced for 16ms K band POP detection. (Not likely or possible in my opinion.)
One of these 4 things happened, there is no doubt about that.
This is why I don't trust anything from SML, way too many screwed up test and/or test results. I'm so glad I know a lot about this stuff so I can see through the BS. There are other areas of the SML test I could comment on, but for now I'm done typing.
