Section of 8 of the Canadian Charter of right ands freedoms protects us from unreasonable search and seizure. In effect it protects us from becoming a police state where the police can randomly pull any car over and search it on a whim.
In previous posts some have stated that we should always blindly consent to a vehicle search and that we could be charged with obstruction if we don't. This is WRONG. An officer needs a reasonable suspicion to search you vehicle. Never consent to a search!!
