i broke down and ordered a new V1, said hell with it and spent the money. Before it even gets shipped, i think i already have a problem. i'm running a rather high powered subwoofer setup, and i'm concerned about suction cups not being able to hang onto the windshield with as much vibration that it creates.
to give you an idea of how bad my windshield vibrates, my rear view mirror fell off within the first day of having my first, rather modest system installed. i've since doubled power, enclosure size, and cone surface area. i've tried several times to reglue the metal backing piece, and after the 4th different glue, it finally stuck. after that finally stayed put, the mirror itself would vibrate loose from the backing plate within a minute of being put back into place, even with the screw mounting it place. i gave up on a rear view mirror, and it now resides in a box of random stuff in my back seat.
will the vibration cause the suction cups to let loose from the windshield?
does anyone have any creative ways of mounting? i've considered welding a metal arm to come down from the roof to be parallel with the windsheild, then mount the detector's mounting piece to that.
