    Default Fuse Taps

I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to get these bad boys because I don't have an Autozone that's close to me and I've heard that the Radio Shack taps, both mini and regular size, don't fit my car's (Evo) fusebox. If that last detail is BS, let me know because I've heard that from a few people but still am skeptical about it.

I used my maglite to smash the radioshack fuse tap into my cars fuse box. It was just a tad too thick, which is weird because it seems really thin fragile and bendy.

    Worked fine.

they're kind of thick, but like kai445 suggested, a little "gentle persuasion" is all that's needed. I didn't use a mag*lite or hammer, just gently pry it open and put it in there. takes a few tries but it'll work.

Or you could just use crimp- or solder-on connectors. A small forked terminal fits micro fuses (using both prongs), and a small male blade connector fits nicely into the hot side of a standard-size mini fuse. Once crimped, the body of the connector can be folded flat and should fit completely inside the fuse box. I'll post some pics of my setup soon to give you an idea.

I was able to find one at PepBoys in Dover. I went to NAPA, Autozone, and Advanced all had no clue what it was. But good luck on finding it, makes the install look clean & nice plus you have the added protection of a fuse!!

I was just thinking of suggesting the same thing.

I cut the connector off, stripped 3/4" of sheating off the end, then pushed the wire into the fuse box, pushing the fuse back in after it to sandwich it in. Works pretty good but the fuse tap is probably easier and "cleaner".

roy, if you were contemplating sellin the taps, i think i'd prefer the fuses with the little wire hanging out, because no extra "persuasion" would be needed.
