Thread: laser pointers

    Default laser pointers

Can a laser pointer set off a laser detector?

is there a way to make the laser detector go off withoug a laser gun?

I think a laser pointer may do the trick, but does anyone have any ideas?

laser pointers will not work as far as i know..... the remote needs to have a clear led bulb on the end for it to work.... at least thats what i have heard

Laser pointers are the wrong wavelength (visible red, LIDAR is 904nm infrared), and most laser pointers aren't pulsed, which is something else the RD looks for.

I think it can detect a constant laser signal given its the proper wavelength, like mine was set off by some guy's Brake lights a few days back, and those were constant (or atleast I hope so for the sake of GM), I got full laser until we started moving again

Envoy or Trailblazer? A few years back GM were equipping these SUVs with neon 3rd brakelights. Neon is pulsed by design (though it looks constant to the naked eye), and there's enough infrared in it to drive the V1 nuts.

I'm glad GM came to their senses and switched to LED for later models.

A laser pointer will not set off a detector...wrong wavelength..and yes...SOME remote controls will set them off...but you have to find the right angle
