Can Radar Guns have adjustable power output? Low output for close encounters and higher for longer ones?

I was asking the same thing.
I have a V995 and recieved a very, very short warning of Ka from a white Ford Exploder (unmarked LEO) and found out the reason why. The reason is that he was running Ka Photo and it put out a very weak Ka signal but i am able to pick up up from about 200 ft or maybe alittle better not much better. I can see him farther with my eyes and slow down in time before I pick up Ka photo.
