We were driving down a huge hill heading south from Springfield, MO to Branson, MO. On the way down the hill we pass someone going about 80 mph. We get a 1 or 2 beeps on the BEL 985. We slam on the breaks to get back down to 70. Well we continue down the hill and now the alert is ramping all the way up. We pass the cop going the speed limit and he pulls us over. He said that he clocked someone going 80 mph and was 99% sure it was us. However, he let us go because he could not be sure that it was. Can a cop get a reading on us coming down the hill but our detector only alerted 1 or 2 bars? This does not seem possible but we were going about that fast. Jimbonzz or any of the other experts could this be possible? Any information would be appreciated.
