    Default Is it true?

Well my cousin and i were headed to the coast this past weekend and he had his crappa up. Well we got a ka-band alert. We ended up getting pulled over by a Texas State trooper. Anyways the officer asked us if we braked when my cousins RD went off. He said yes, well anyways he told us we should have just let off the gass and let gravity slow us down and he wouldnt have been able to get a reading as easily. Is this true?

Doubtful... however, hitting the brakes and the resulting nose dip prolly just told the officer "I'm feeling guilty, I have a radar detector, come get me."

So, he pulls your cousin, and instead of asking, "Do you know how fast you were going?

He plays right into the guilt your cousin has already displayed.... "Didja hit the brakes when I tagged you, son?" translates into: "I know you're guilty, How guilty do you feel, ya gonna tell me?"

Your cousin ought not visit Canada, nor VA... Unless he wants to give away his cobra... which, if he had a .... well never mind.

This is completely false! He would have gotten a reading on you whether you had hit the brakes or not.

As far as the braking and letting gravity do the work, I do let off the brakes when I get hit by radar so he doesn't see my tail lights light up as he passes. Tail lights are a sure sign that you know you were speeding. Also, if your in a group of cars you won't stand out as much if you just act as if nothing has happen as he drives by you.

On another note, I would get rid of the cobra and get something a little better. I'm not knocking your detector just letting you know there are
    better detectors out there.

I usually use engine braking............ but the RADAR moniors it continuously for while its on, enough so that unless youre an F1 car with good brakes and warm tires stopping 200-0, then no the RADAR wouldve kept reading your speed all the way down from say 60-45 or something like that, (60....59.....58........... all the way down)

    You got that right.

if anything, you "coasting" instead means you won't be slowing as quick, so he'll actually clock you at a faster speed.

he fed you a line of B.S. on that one.

    i see 3 mistakes..

    1)Cobra
    2) speeding with a cobra
    3) you fell right into the LEO line that he probally feeds to 15 other people each day

Yea I was wondering if my breaks had a fuse or not, I was thinking about just wiring them to my kill switch that I have on my RD so that if I hit the breaks the lights wont turn on. This obviously isn't any good if you're a rabbit and got someone tailing you, but if no one's behind you I think it'd be safe
