How did it go so far? I'm curious about the vote result in the local House and especialy those (can somebody name them?) AGAINST the use of radar detectors, those that voted against the bill...

sometimes republicans are very cool people.
who repealed the national speed limit ... the GOP
who opposes bans on RD ... the GOP
meh, im still a moderate.
It didn't even make it to a vote. It failed in the transportation Committee. Good thing too, because it's better here for us detector users that radar detectors are illegal. Virginia is perfect the way it is right now.Originally Posted by Road Warrior

Here are two threads we already have on the board for this subject:
http://www.radardetector.net/Stealth...Wish-7859t.php
http://www.radardetector.net/Stop-th...-Ban-4802t.php
this could just be a rumor but i heard that one of the first persons to be caught WITH a RD in virginia after the law passed was one of the congressmen who sponsored it.
if true, shows the true nature of politicians.
bastards.
wouldn't be a surprise
*cough* foley *cough*

Thank you all for the responses... BUT... you gotta kill me to really agree (not that they need my understanding) with those that so easily trade FREEDOM (yeah, being FREE to use any RD of your choice w/out being ALWAYS afraid that any time might get caught and pay $100 fine) for a kind of safety net (cops soft on radar technology and traffic logistics)... to know that all other 49 brothers of yours are FREE and you are the only one kept in total dark (as per not FREE) and still being happy with not being free, not in a million years I'll be able to understand it... or maybe because I love too much FREEDOM and hate the idea that somebody can force me to live NOT free...
Unfortunately, no Ontario politicians have ever had the guts to bring this subject up to the Ontario Parliament and try to legalize the use of RDs (in line with our BC, AB and SK brothers)
And the Transportation Committee is... you forgot to answer my question: WHO was against??? Republicans/Conservatives or Democrats/Liberals???Originally Posted by stealthJamal

The committee is made up of all of the above. It's not one sided, reps from both parties voted to kill it.Originally Posted by Road Warrior
