Talking with Radar Roy has helped my to understand both sides of the story. And with that I mean the cops side and the civilian side of radar detectors. Now when a cop thinks of someone with a radar dector a young male in his twentyies comes to mind with his rice burner honda. And the goal of this young man is to go a fast as he can to get where his is going without getting caught and looking cool at the same time. And I know for a fact that there are a few steriotypes that fits that discription. I used to be one. But now days I dont care to go as fast as i can. It seems as though my life has caught a gear and is passing me by. I try to take my time and enjoy what is going on around me and treasure what i have. But i have recently upgraded my radar, and you are probably asking why? Well i may not want to go fast but a radar detector is also a very important reminder. It helps one to focus on what is going on and what they are doing when that alert sounds. Have you ever noticed you can be driving to say the mall with all your friends. You have the radio going and you guys are chatting about all kinds of stuff. And when that alert sound everyone gets quiet you immediantly hit the brakes and check your speed. Then you start looking around you to find the police officer. To me the radar detector is a great tribute to all people who drive on the road and I think that it is imperative that everyone have one and be allowed to use it. It helps remind you to slow down and be aware of whats going on.
