Default bel rx65 vs escort x50 -what one is more user friendly

I'm trying to decide between these two RD and would like to get opinions from people that have used both. I've searched the forum but havn't found answers to my questions.
I've read alot about both of them and realize that the rx65 does voice warnings and the x50 only does tones.
I'm wondering if the voice feature on the rx65 and the amount of buttons on it make it more user friendly than the x50?

    Thank you

    David

I like the X50 because of the "thumbwheel" volume control instead of the buttons, and the gradient audio alerts are far superior than the RX-65's audio. Just my opinion....

They're about the same. As professor Jim said, the X50 has a thumbwheel volume control, the RX65 has a digital one (hold down a button). The RX65, however, can have it's volume adjusted from the smartplug while the X50 cannot.

The menu system on both of them is the same, and both are very simple to operate.

Doesnt the RX-65 have like a "training" sequence, or something like that? I havent handled an RX 65, but I know that the X50 is real simple to use, and program

I have to agree with the above the X50 is easier to get used to...

I think mainly because as Jim said the thumbwheel to set the volume level, and the (big thing), the gradient (ramp-up) w/the Locked-out tone when at Full-Alert being spot-on.

Then again, I really (especially recently) haven't used any RX65's... I like my V895 though  (Except those darn tones, and it doesn't lock-out at a solid tone for full alert).

both are imo far easier to "learn" than the v1 is... but i agree i really like the volume wheel over the buttons on the rx65.. other than the audio alerts and the knob vs button and the exp meters being different they are really the same unit as far as programing goes.. there are subtle differences..but nothing that would make one harder to use overall than the other. i myself as i said prefer the x50.

I think the RX65 is a little more user friendly in my opinion. While they are both pretty easy to program on the fly, I find the RX65 has the ability to go through the options a bit quicker. The X50 has a little pause in between settings that slows the process of programming down some. I think this is crucial while traveling. For instance, I enabled X band on the RX65 while driving in less than 10 seconds.

I have a rx65 and I miss the way my older passport looked. The knob and alerts are great. Also I think my old passport came out of auto mute when the signal strength ramped up. Another big thing is the slanted display of the x50. I like to have my detector to the right of my center mirror at the top of the windshield. Its hard to read the rx65 like that. Get the x50 in my oppinon. I think the performance is identical.
