    Default What Have I Become?

Wife and I are cruising back from the store today. We pass a side street (she's driving her van, I'm shotgun), and she says, "Oh good thing I'm not speeding. There's a cop clocking people back there."

I look, and sure enough, Colorado Springs finest is back there, clocking us from behind.

What do I think to myself? "Damn, I gotta go get my car and test my RD against this guy!"

    I think I need help.

And you let your wife drive without an RD?

I'm pretty bad too. I just got another V1 (hey, gotta compare old reliable with latest 'n greatest, right?) and went for a drive, and on the highway I saw a statey in the median parked sideways. First I thought to myself, "Laser!" but was then disappointed to find he was just sitting there watching traffic.

My wife has a Mazda 6 too. Nice car.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

She doesn't even like the fact that I have one. This despite the fact that the old 715i I used to use was hers from her previous marriage.

She CLAIMS she doesn't speed, but I watch her speedo -- she speeds as much as I do.

I like it. Not the fastest in the world, but it handles nice. I may trade mine on a Speed6 next summer.

You should be just impressed that your other half picked up the trap
I'm not much better. When i see LEO running radar, and i have no RD on me at the time, a deep feeling of missing out on something is all to overwelming

Yeah, and kind of ashamed that I missed it. Oh well. I wasn't driving. Now I have to go add that to speedtrap.org, since it's a new location for town.

Or even worse, when I pass a LEO, have my RD, but he's not using his radar. I almost want to go back and ask, "Hey could you turn on your radar for me?"

    Almost. Not quite.

Oh, and I did go back in my car. About an hour later. Two miles out of my way for where I was going, but hey...

He was not at the same location, but was out there somewhere. I got a very steady K-band signal. I think he was watching a nearby school zone. In which case, I thank him, since that's my daughter's school.

Me, I sometimes go out at night, when Im bored, and drive around looking for speed traps. When they run the laser trap on campus, I get off the shuttle, and drive back to go through. Sadly, Ive only gotten shot once
