I was fooling around the other day by putting my Cobra and Whistler next to each other, and I found it interesting that the Cobra sets off the VG-2 on my new Whistler. Cool .

Cobras set of many RD's.
Yes I know .
Whistler VG2 alert goes off a LOT for other RDs. Not just Cobra. I've even seen one other Whistler do it.
As a sidenote, my friend's 6.1 X50 intermittantly sets off my X alert on my RX65 if i'm following him, so I guess even the big guys aren't immune from setting off other RDs.
Great info compu44!
I had this guy tell me he loved his Cobra RD and insisted it's saved his asss many a time. I nearly fell off my seat and said,
"Your f***ing joking"

When instant-on was rare around here, I was pretty happy with mine. But times change and Cobra RDs do not.Originally Posted by RadarRick

my old RD9 sets off my detectors from 50 feet away..lol
Well, as long as it's not Ka band, Cobras actually aren't terrible with detectionOriginally Posted by RadarRick
Just they annoy the crap outta everyone. My 9400 sets off:
A constant K or Ka band alert for a two-car radius or so when VG2 is on.
A very rare intermittent pulse of Ka every like 5 minutes when VG2 is off.
Both are quite annoying though arguably the second option victimizes fewer drivers than the first
