Default V1 or X50 poll on corvette forum

    http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...=valentine+one

V1 has 37 votes with 74% of the vote
X50 has 13 votes with 26% of the vote

This is the current standings as of 11:45 pm Central Time on 1/22/05

Not bad for a $400 radar detector that makes up less than 1% of radar detector sales

I guess the $100 savings and blue lights really don't make a difference with Corvette drivers.

Yeah what is with the blue lights on the X50? Like the red one is $299 but the blue sells for another 30-50 bucks! WTF a blue filter on the display costs maybe 1/3 cent and it replaces the 1/3 cent red one...????

Escort doesn't use a filter, they use real blue LEDs, which cost more than red LEDs to manufature.

Yeah but they aren't 30 dollars more expensive!

Well, actually, when you consider that the X50 uses 280 of them, yes, yes they are. Look at prices for Blue Leds Vs. Red Leds in an electronics catalog. You'll be surprised how much more expensive they are.

RadarWarrior naturally has drool coming out of his mouth but that is from the low IQ's that are running rampant through the trailer parks in Oklahoma. By the way RetardWarrior, it is, "sits around all day" not "sets around all day" like you learned on HeeHaw or Dukes of Hazzard.

    Oh yeah I forgot...

Brace yourself everyone! Corvette Drivers are about to decide once and for all what the best radar detector is!

    Or not.

Did it ever occur to you, that everyone of the people I know that own Corvettes (and I know a lot, frequently racing) have A LOT of money? So much that 100 bucks is chump change to them, so naturally the Escort's biggest advantage is meaningless to Vette drivers... its price.

Try polling low income Honda Civic owners who have/use the V1 and the Escort, it will be a lot different.

Or you could realize that what one person (or 44 for that matter) says is completely meaningless.

Radar detectors are not an exact science, look at the SML testing. In 2003 they said the V1 detected K-band pop, in 2004 they said it didn't. SML said the V1 had more than the 2.0 miles they reported in the 2004 test around curve in 2003, and in 2003 the V1 was able to pick up laser aimed at the license plate fired at 1000m, but in 2004, it didn't.

The detector didn't change... bringing us to the fact that maybe, just maybe, testing isn't an indicator of performance.

Sits...sets...whatever. You should know that when you are posting quickly at a web forum you're not publishing a F_CKING SCIENTIFIC PAPER MORON, so typos are very very common.

But then I couldn't really expect a V1 zombie to figure something like that out. They're too busy drooling over their radar detector...or anal-yzing the grammatical content of a FORUM POST... worse...repeating the chant:

    Veeeeeveeeeeveeeeeveeeeeveeeeeveeeee....ad nauseum.

BiGeAsYgUy - Big Easy Guy? (translates - Cajun A$$hole)
