    Welcome to the boards...

All of your questions have been asked here many times over again, and if you just read through the forums for a little bit, you wont have a problem getting the answers you need.

    Heres a start:

Top radar detectors generally are (not necessarily in this order)
    x50
    sti
    rx65
    v1

As far as jammers go, many people like the AL8 and the Blinders. I believe that the escort jammer lacks a little but i could be wrong, i dont have one and havent looked into them much.

Veil will help reduce laser shot distance, as well as a plate cover from veil.

So go check out the forums for the different brands of detectors, then the jammer forum, and then the veil forum. Good luck

Well even with the best of everything nothing is full proof.

The best Radar detectors are the Escort 8500 X50, BEL RX65, BEL STi, Valentine1.

For speed cameras and red light cameras I suggest the NAValert GPS camera system and a photoblocker plate cover(but illegal in most states)

And Laser jammer The best proven so far is the Laser Pro Park(LPP) Also a Blinder M40 is a good set-up if you use VEIL stealth coating for head lights and Laser Shield on your front plate

Even with using all this stuff i suggest you only speed when you have a rabbit in front of you who would most likely take the instant-on radar hit then allowing your detector to alert and you slow down

    Spoiler: show

    Radar Detectors-V1 & BEL v995
    Laser Jammer-Laser Interceptor Quad
    GPS Camera Locator-Cheetah C100
    GPS Nav-Garmin nuvi w/Trapster
    CB Radio-Galaxy DX-949 w/Wilson 500
    Scanner-RS Pro-96

Speeding at 110MPH, I used to do back in the day. Untill I got a lidar ticket, just days after I had decided going that fast was stupid. Which really made me mad, because I decided not to drive 100+ anymore, then the day I slow down I get a laser ticket WTF.

Like others said, No detector is fool proof, NOT even a rabbit can protect you unless you know the rules of speeding.

The rules I have compiled are:

    - Know the LEOS Patrol Methods, Some use Constant on Radar, Some use Instant on Radar, Some use Lidar, Some use VASCAR (White Blocks - Chevron Marks) with a plane in the air or 2 markers that are undetectable by a driver until it's too late clock the time it takes you to cross one marker to the next and get your speed)

    - Know the set ups leos use, such as setting on top of overpasses, off ramps, over hills, around corners, behind objects, in medians, in shadowed areas, dressed as a construction worker, dressed as a bum, using a unmarked car, using a broken down vehicle.

    - Use your gut instinct

    - Watch break lites (Used to be helpful, but with lidar & vascar it may be too late)

    - Slow before corners and before going over a hill

    - Watch for other traffic warning you of a speed trap ahead

    - Buy a scanner and program it for all of the State, County & City frequencies that you will be traveling through

    - Buy a CB Radio (Old method that will always work if there is traffic)

    - Visually scan the road whenever driving

    - Go to websites that provide speed trap locations

    - Buy a GPS and mark locations of LEOS hot spots and traffic enforcement

    - Then when you have done all of the above rely on your detector/jammer.

NEVER, EVER EVER Drive as if your detector will save you every time. This feeling will end up getting you a ticket!

Now there is a device that smokes out your licence plate number, but the device may have never been put out on the market. I have seen it posted here a few times but have never heard of anyone using it.

A few things that don't work:
RMR Products (Their Claims are false about jamming)
Photo Blocker Spray (The product works on older cameras NOT new)
Some Licence Plate Covers (Some work some do not, Radar Roy can fill you in with this information if you plan on ordering a device through him. Ask about which one will work for you)

Any further questions can be addressed to anyone on the board, the guys with the higher number of post are the most knowledgeable and can provide bunches of information.

Best defense is to stay within PSL or not more than 5 over. Even better, stay with traffic flow speed (which will vary during bad road conditions).

If you really feel the need for speed, find a local race track and find out about some events where one can participate in an event (most likely will have a fee). It will be much safer for you and others. Your probability of a citation increases significantly as you drive 100+ MPH on the public roads. In spite of all the radar/laser CMs you have, the LEO can still pull you over with a visual estimate and the judge isn't going to be lenient with you.

Check your local laws regarding license plate covers. They are illegal in Texas and the consequences are serious.

are you talking about lidar covers or the ones that obscure the numbers for photo enforcement or both? That sucks because in Tx we gotta have both plates and they love lidar especially in Austin.

Anything that covers the plate even if it's clear plastic can get you a ticket or you can be pulled over for it and get a warning at the minimum if the LEO is enforcing it. That law kinda sucks cause they expect you to keep your license plate free of dirt, dust etc. but without a plate cover how do they expect that?
