    3) Autovelox 104/C2

    The Best Answer:

    The modern age demands the use of technologically advanced means which can provide the best solution to the increasingly complex problems of road traffic.Excess speed is the major cause of road accidents worldwide. In order to combat traffic offences and reduce the huge number of lives lost therefrom, Police Forces have been provided for many years with Autovelox systems.Nowadays, Autovelox 104/C-2 represents the best way to fulfil these requirements. This is a high- tech system making use of a pair of invisible eye-safe laser beams, crossing the road at right angles to the traffic flow. Built-in self-diagnosis and dual speed measurement provide extreme accuracy and unquestionable evidence of the infringement.

    Special Features:

    * Accurate and reliable
    * Impossible to intercept
    * Safe
    * Practical
    * Easy to use
    * Versatile
    * Light weight & compact construc-tion
    * Ready for interface

    Versatility:

    Thanks to its reduced dimensions, Autovelox 104/C-2 is an extremely versatile instrument, suitable for installation in a patrol vehicle, or directly on the road surface by means of a tripod, or in a fixed cabin.

    Reliability:

    Measurement reliability is guaranteed by a special automatic control system. In particular, Autovelox 104/C-2 duplicates speed measurement on each vehicle, thus eliminating readings which do not match exactly. Moreover, this technique makes it possible to ascribe, without doubt, the speed reading to the vehicle which has prompted the measurement, as the latter may take place only on one vehicle at a time.

    Modular Design:

    Autovelox has been designed as a modular instrument. The speed-measuring detector may be integrated at any time with a wide range of components. This makes it possible to adapt the configuration of the apparatus to different Police requirements.

    Photographic Recording:

    To optimize the legibility of the vehicle plate and eliminate focusing of each individual vehicle, Autovelox 104/C-2 takes pictures of all vehicles in the same position. In this way, even when more than one vehicle is in the picture, the one exceeding the limit is unequivocally spotted. Use of the front-view camera allows identification of the driver and permits a fine to be issued or a driving licence confiscation report. By means of an exclusive, infra-red system for the transmission of data (which cannot be intercepted), the front-view image is imprinted with the same data as the rear-view image and also with a code, allowing the two photos to be unmistakably matched.

    Video Recording:

    Video System is a significant enhancement to the traditional photographic camera for recording speeding vehicles detected by the Autovelox 104/C-2 laser speedmeter. The system is based on a professional video-camera with a high-resolution blaxk and white printer. The video-camera can be mounted on the front windscreen of a patrol car using a suction-cup support or on a tripod. Video System provides an automatic and instantaneous pricture of every speeding vehicle. Also printed on the image is data related to the date, time, location and measured speed, as necessary for the prosecution of the driver. Any error in the orientation, focusing, luminosity etc. is easily detectable by the operator who can correct it immediately. The elimination of the development/printing stage avoids relying on external laboratories, thus greatly reducing costs and contributing to the protection of citizens privacy. The video-camera has a 6 meter framing range able to cover 1 1/2 lanes. The printing paper roll has a capacity of 250 pictures in standard format. Night time operation is possible using the traditional flash and syncro-flash of Autovelox 104/c-2. It is possible to connect a 12V powered video-recorder with LCD screen to create a file of images picked up during patrol duty. The videocassette is a standard video 8 type with a maximum legnth of 120 minutes. The recorder is housed in the video-camera case.

    Traffic Statistics:

    With the Statistical Analyzer, Autovelox 104/C-2 is able to provide statistical data of the traffic flow and a chart of speed distribution related to the number of vehicles detected. The RS 232 serial output makes it possible to transfer data to another computer in order to set up a road traffic data bank, and to carry out further data processings.

    Automatic Management of Offence Report:

    IThe automatic transfer of data from Autovelox to the computer allows a step forward towards the automatic management of offence reports. First, the operator will no longer need to digitize date, time, speed, speed limit; location etc., with consequent reduction in input errors and saving of time. Secondly, the automatic retrieval of personal data relating to drivers (from the relevant data banks) using suitable linking software, will make it possible to release the report by simply inputting the vehicle registration number.

    5) Autostop K 20 (Red Light Camera)

    AUTOSTOP K20 is a portable instrument for the photographic recording of traffic offences taking place at light-controlled crossroads.
    The reduced dimensions of AUTOSTOP K 20 allows it to be installed at prearranged stations in 30 seconds. This implies a drastic reduction of overhead expenses for fixed installations and high flexibility of use. In particular, as AUTOSTOP K 20 is easily movable from one crossroad to another, it makes traffic control unforeseeable by road users.
    AUTOSTOP K 20 is able to provide a multiple photographic evidence of the dynamics of accidents caused by vehicles crossing through the red light.

    Unit's make up

    AUTOSTOP K 20 is made up of a photographic camera with a flashgun for night-operations, which is automatically activated, as necessary, under poor light conditions, and of an electronic control panel allowing the unit to be controlled through an alphanumeric keyboard and an LCD display. Rechargeable built-in battery provides for the necessary power supply. The light-alloy box holding the equipment is mounted under the lamp set of the lights post by means of a suitable fixed support. The detection of crossing vehicles is made by one or more inductive sensors, while the connection with the lights is operated externally through a small photocell to be placed on the red or green lamp.

    Operation

    AUTOSTOP K 20 has been designed to make its operation as simple as possible. First, it is necessary to prearrange the crossroad by installing the inductive unit`s sensors and support. To prolong their life, the inductive sensors are usually embodied in the road base through a rectangular cut (see diagram below) near the crossing. The support for AUTOSTOP K 20 consists of a special collar which is screwed on the lights post and left thus mounted for subsequent use. AUTOSTOP K 20 is then hanged on the collar and locked.As shown in the figure, the box is oriented towards the direction of traffic to be photographed. After connecting the AUTOSTOP K 20 with the photocell attached to the red or green light and with the sensors, the unit is ready to be programmed from the internal keyboard for the duty session.

    Photographic documentation

    As a result of the programming, each photograph showing the offending vehicle framed from the rear, will also bear at the bottom the following automatically impressed data:

    * date and time (day, month, year, hours, minutes)
    * time in seconds elapsed from the light switching to red
    * name of location (settable from keyboard) where the infringement has occurred
    * number of photographic sequence for each vehicle

    6) Autobox

    Introduction

    The experience acquired through many years of achievements in the field of speed enforce-ment has now allowed Sodi Scientifica to provide a new version of speed camera site exhibiting outstanding characteristics. The AutoBox consists of a vandal protected heavy duty roadside post with limited weight andoverall dimensions (75 kg - 1.6 m high) and its Autoveloxacross-the-road laser speedmeter. Such sites have proved to be an effective means for reducing vehicles speed during road safety campaigns. The AUTOBOX are in fact located on trunk roads and highways where drivers, more likely than elsewhere, show to have a bent for violating speed limits and an automatic speed camera is mostly important. Not only do these devices allow for a more effective speed enforcement, but they also act as a deterrent over speed offences by simply being present though not equipped. The speedmeter may be provided with a 800 picture camera and both may be mounted and removed quite easily. Once installed, AutoBox is automatically operated with no need for supervision. This results in a considerable saving in man power.

    Special Features:

    * High impact on the reduction of the number of accidents
    * Very effective tool for prevention and repression
    * Stainless steel body with polycarbonate portholes
    * Ground-anchored by means of braces
    * Double-mapping safety locks
    * It can be used for Autovelox 104/C-2 or Autovelox 105SE

    Characteristics

    AUTOBOX is easily installable and removable thanks to its restrained weight and dimensions, and may be ground anchored by means of braces. The three portlights (two for the speedmeter and one for the camera) are made of a paint resistant material providing a safeguard against vandalism and allowing spray paint-stains to be easily removed. AutoBox is also provided with doublemapping safety locks; twilight switch for automati cally turning off the unit in case of poor light or for activating a suitable flash; supports for positioning the speedmeter and the camera; supply battery and means for connection to the mains as well.

    Called V1 and your eyes...also some use of Veil will be nice for the Laser guns.

    Radar detectors are illegal to use, but no one really checks you...I have used them on my way trough Italy...

    A lot of RadarCamera's on the from Padoa to Venice...also saw an undercover Alfa 156 sedan...with an installed mobile radar gun and camera...had to drive about 15mins to locate it...driving in the same direction at 160-180kph...also saw a blue subaru impreza working on Vascar...there was also an articlle in Auto about speed measurments.

    I have some clips and photos I have to find them and I can post them here.

    NICE info BTW

    Oh I soooo wish the radar detector companies would advance their technology so they are more sensitive in picking up photo radar.

    Right now, it seems the technology has gone stagnent for quite a while now.
