Can someone please tell me what the bands really mean. Like does Highway patrol have x or k or city has ka or something like that. And the other day i got an alert it was VG2 what is that. Thanks

It is basically the band of radar they are using. Depending on your area, the LEOs may or may not use certain bands. Also, when going by automatic doors, many times you will get a K or X alert.
Over time, you will learn to differentiate what signal is coming from where.
BTW, VG2 is a radar detector detector, or RDD. It's this thing that LEOs use to detect people who are using radar detectors. Usually used places where RDs are illegal, though the Spectre is more widely used. On Cobras, this is usually a false.
The bands are a short form to describe the freqeuncies that the police radars operate on... 10.5, 24.0, 33-35 Mghz
ok that one when i was reading it he said post if you know something new, or something of that sort, but for Iowa and South Dakota there is POP in those 2 unless im getting a false reading.Originally Posted by ELVATO

What detector are you using? Must be pretty old VG-2 is an old device the police used to use detect RDs. It's old technology you're detector's proabably falsing on that too.

Yup the Cobras are low end not very reliable dont depend on it
well it works around here dispite all the bad things ive heard about it.
