Default MD3-3/D Radar Detector Detector - Has this been proven

Just wondered if anyone has any knowledge about this RDD and is it better than the spectre 3?

It's been out for awhile now and it's not very good. It can pick up more detectors than the VG2, but not as many as the Spectre.

According to the test I have read on it, the MD3 does not pick up any of the highend detectors - X50, RX65, 995, original 8500, V1, or STi.

From the test I read it picked up more Whistler & Cobra models than the VG2 could.

It's made by a company called Hill Country Research and it looks like there is a new version MR5. Craig Peterson has an interesting read on it at his site - http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=100543

Scroll down to the bottom to see the part about RDD's.

    Default so

So I guess you could say it's right between the VG-2 and the Spectre. Middle man huh?

I wonder if they've actually sold any of those things?

Maybe the MR5 is tuned to pick up 432 MHz. (j/k)

Same here, I wonder if there are any being used and in the
wild. It would be very interesting to see some video of
it in action such as what Roy did with the VG2 and Spectra III.

There is a photo of the unit here:
    http://www.radarbusters.com/2003rada...ionarticle.cfm

The unit did an awful job at the 2003 and 2004 tests

Never heard of anyone buying any of his units

That really surprises me that the Whistlers were detected.
RMR, Cobra, Attowave, and PNI wasn't much of a surprise.
