I can't tell you how many times my eyes have saved my a$$ this year. I think about 6 or 7 times to date. Today was no exception. I was on a four lane wher you can see for about 2 miles. There were probably 3 or 4 cars in front of me for a mile os so.
Way up the road I saw a black and white...probably 1.5 miles off. I was doing about 80 in the 65 so I slowed down. He was about 1/2 mile away when I got down to 65 mph and he had never pulled the trigger on any of the cars in front of me. At that point I assumed he wasn't even clocking folks. Then at 1/4 mile or less (maybe only 250 yards) my 8500 went full alert K band. I was the only one he zapped out of the cars in front of me for at least a couple miles.
Why in the hell he chose me I'll never know. I mean I'm driving a 5 year old 4x4 Dodge Ram covered in mud!
It's obvious LE has turned the power waaaaay down on their radar units so they can catch more people using RDs. But hey are shooting themselves in the foot. Now they have to be right on top of you to get a lock. By that time you've seen 'em coming for days.
Anybody else relate?
