I did a thread search on this topic but didn't run across anything quickly.
I came up behind a Chevy Lumina last night and pulled out to pass. As I went by I got a flash of Ka 33.800, since this frequency is typically a Harris County Constable I quickly tucked back behind the Lumina then the SR7 went quiet.
I tried another pass, once again I got the same Ka 33.800 flash. I got back behind the lumina a second time but I started wondering if I was pickin up a leaky RD. Went for another pass, same blip Ka 33.800 but I could see his RD hanging center windshield but could not guage the make. After I passed the SR7 was quiet again.
I know Ka 33.800 is a MPH industries frequency but the detection behavior seemed strange. What kind of frequency does a leaky Cobra produce? Could it have been anything else. This section of Highway did not have an overpass and the feeders were empty.
