    Default R we all crazy???

I was thinking about it today. I got a Ka reading about .6 miles (over two small hills) from the LEO and that gave me plenty time to slow down. Now I wasn't going that fast, but even if I was, I would have had plenty of time to slow down.

We all talk about (I am guilty too) how far we got a signal, but really who cares as long as it gives you time to safely slow down. I guess I just think it is funny how we all are about RDs. Sorta like ppl who want to get all they can out of a computer cpu, when they just use their computers to surf (not even download) the net (which takes absolutely no power hardly).

If you can't slow down to the PSL within 1 mile, you better get your brakes checked!!!!!! LOL

Yea, sometimes my X50 overdoes itself. But the range is mostly to help out around curves/hills and for helping detect a IOing officer down the road. Heck, even the range of the top 4 isn't enough at times.

That is so true!!!!!! I guess it is just funny when we say, WOW! I got 4 miles on K band today. If all variables were constant, you would always get 4 miles...lol

Sure it would be! If you got 4 mile range and didn't change anything, you would always get 4 miles.

For open-highway constant-on encounters, a cheap cobra probably would get the job done.... it's those IO, over-the-hill, and around-the-corner cases where you can really benefit from what may seem like absurdly overkill range
