Default Annoying K, Ka School bus!!!

I am from fort worth texas and the school buses are equipped with radar!

everytime i get 2 K bands i know it a bus ......but sooner or later it will be a a real cop!!! once i get closer it starts to beep Ka band!!!

it get really annoying and i almost always ignore it when it hits 2 Ka.... with the X50 it can only give 2 Ka warnings... i guess the V1 will tell me if there is more then 2

what else cities do they do this? share similar experiences.

Why do school buses have radar equipment are they using it
to judge speed or to make radar detectors go off?

I am assuming it is for radar user to make them slow down around school zone/Bus

the only time I would agrea with that idea is when the bus would be in a NON-MOVING ie. when kid get in or out, then the radar emiter could be ON to make people slow down. but when the bus is moving it is just anoying...

I am from Fort Worth as well, nice to see someone from my city. I wouldnt just assume since there is 2 getting picked up from the X50 it is a school bus. Ive been noticing cruisers with the dual stalker is setting off the X50 with 2 KA's. I dont think I have had a Ka band from a bus, just K.

Radar Drones - During the same field testing activity, SML determined the effective range of new radar drones from Traffic Safety Products, LLC. Drones are used by highway departments and police to mimic police radar guns keying up radar detectors used by motorists. The newly developed drones feature a variable timer to replicate police "instant on" radar transmissions. Radar detector drivers think the police are ahead and slow down. SML was instrumental in placing drones over 1,000 FCC approved, Part 15, radar drones on school busses in Texas and New Mexico during the last year. A new solar powered radar drone was also evaluated during SML's June testing for longevity of operation. The evaluation of the solar powered drones will be provided to the State of North Carolina as SML met with state officials, at their request, twice in the last year to evaluate new highway safety technologies.

So this is why I see police antenna's on road construction signs!
Do red light and photo camera's run on X-band because I see them in my area and they make my detector go off?
