Default radar detection through porsche window

I also am new here, Thanks radar roy.
'I have been told that it will be necessary to do a custom installation -front bumper type to get decent detection. I am picking up a 2007 targa 911 and the thought is the leaded window will essentially produce poor detection. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to test or any experience on detection using a window mount through a porsche window?
    Thanks

i believe there is a special coating on the inside of Porshe's windsheilds that will become permantally mared by the suction cups.

Contact Mike Valentine himself at 1 800 331 3030 because he owns a Porsche and probably has plenty of experience in this area.

You might have to get a remote install.

I belive that you can use it iin the car but you can't use the sucction cups becuase they leave permenent marks on it. I would get a visor mount. I think that is a better option then the remote units since they are very expensive and are no better in performance.

Ah, ok. I thought that the windshield was going to cut down on detection. Then yes, the visor mount should work well

Yes, that's not good and you will have to donate the car to my home address, sorry
But seriously, a dash mount or visor clip might be your only option, besides a remote!

    Default visor,dash

A visor or dash mount is a good idea. I use the dash mount as a backup for when I am having problems w/ my suction cups.

My 993 is 11 yrs. old and I run an X50 just about the rearview mirror AND I have a SuperCup decal over the top of the windshield. My RD works just fine. I wouldn't worry about it. I haven't driven the 997 yet, but when I do, I'll bring my S2 with me and see how it does on that windshield.
