This is a cool "hobby"... actually Spy vs. Spy kind of a thing (remember Mad Magazine?). Anyway... what about some intel on what the LOE are using in certain areas?
In Virginia there is a law that vaguely outlaws ANYTHING that can prevent or limit the effectiveness of LOE ability to measure vehicle speed and so enforce the PSL. That is a tough one... even Veil or other passive countermeasures are illegal (if the LOE can recognize them).
I was at Starbucks the other day and noticed a Spotslyvania, VA police car next to me in the lot. He was in having some coffee so I gave his car an inspection. No radar that I could see. He had a dash cam, a Spectre unit on the inside of the roof, and some other strange looking box about 10" wide x 8" deep x 3" tall and having a pattern like \\\\ //// in 1/8" raised plastic about 1/2 thick and 5" tall. I can't find it on any police supply site or radar site. Anyone know what it is?
The Spectre makes me really think twice about an RD. I want to do a hidden remote RD and build it into my car's fiberglass bumpers but I don't think there are any Spectre-proof remote RDs on the market.
Any comments or ideas welcome.
