The original Passport used a coaxial power connector on the antenna end (front) of the unit. V. Polak created a novel mount for this detector that allowed the user to slide the detector in and out easily and connected the power cable 'automatically' as it was 'trapped' in the mount. Perfect for a removable but hardwired installation.
AND it used five small suction cups so it never fell off the windshield.
Seems almost everyone plugs the power into the side nowadays and uses multiple connections to make available the option to trigger other devices, but that mount was such a good idea I wish someone would come up with another. The vendors maybe. Would certainly make mounting/unmounting faster and the whole thing more secure.
