Default Mounting on perforated sun shield on windshield

My windshield has this perforated screen above the rear view mirror and between the sun visors to block the sun. Suction cups won't stick to it because of the holes.

My favorite place to mount a detector is above the rear view mirror. Ideas on how to get it to stick?

Tape or glue a small piece of plexiglass to the windshield over the perforated "holes" and then stick the RD mount's suction cups to the plexiglass.

Maybe use a little velcro and stick it to the top of the mirror?

thought about that, actually. maybe I'll try that, too. but I'll have to get every last one or I won't be able to sleep at night... good thing it doesn't run the length of the windshield.

I've been using the plexiglass trick for maybe 6 months. Works like a charm!
