Ok, so the subject is vague, let me explain.
I recently purchased an Escort 8500 X50. I know that when going through the city you'll have your hot spots where X band is "fixed" so to speak and will always go off as it's coming from other radar sources like buildings.
But while driving around town and on the interstate, I have found three places where K band (which I always thought was limited to police radar use) goes off. Everytime I turn into the parking lot of two places in town, no matter what time of day, it goes off strong. And then on the interstate, there is one area that I get an instant burst reading, almost full strength, everytime I pass it. But there are no cops anywhere nearby.
Am I wrong in my assumption that K band can't give readings like X band in the city? School my ignorant butt!
