Ok so I finally got a Bel RX65 and on two cool mornings got the "self cal" message. The first time it only did it once but then this morning it did "self cal" 3 or 4 times then said "service required." I turned the unit off, turned the heat on high (it was 28 degrees this morning) and after 10 minutes turned the unit back on and it appeared to function normally. I also noted that every once in a while it would give X and K warnings without an audible alert, but that was corrected with resetting.
So I called Bel this morning and the guy asked if it continued to display the message and I said it went away after I turned it off for 10 minutes. He said the "self cal" is normal and that if the "service required" message went away not to worry about it. He said the volume problem isn't normal and that I could send it in and they would check it out, but that seems to have been corrected with resetting.
So does all this sound right? I hate to pay shipping to send it to them only for them to send it back and say it fine!
So what do ya'll think, send it or not?
