Default Need help to choose the best detector

    Hello everybody

i'm from Belgium (Europe) and after getting some tickets i decided to get a radar detector.

since i have been interested by the Valentine One Euro and the Bel STI Driver.

In Belgium Police unit are usually running Multanova 6F radar but i dont know on what bands

after searching on this forum i discovered that they are also using RDD (Spectre or VG-2 i dont really know)

so my questions are : which of the 2 models (V1 or STI) is the best for my country ?

is the STI accurate again Multanova ? (i ve heard something about Ku bands and the STI can't operate on this band)

My Father is going to San Francisco next week and he want to get back with one detector. do you have some adress where he can eventually buy theses RD is SFO?

    Thanx.

    Julien

I'm not sure how well the STI goes against the multanova's but I know the v1 kicks a$$.

www.guysoflidar.com might have a test you might want to check out.

I heard rumors about V1 releasing"undetectable"V1.If someone have some info about this.......I E-mailed VR about this but no reply, yet.Mini Lover,if you decide for V1 wait until we know about "stealth"V1.You need invisible RD because Belgium,CH,NL...etc have "spectre"and if you get caught....YAIKS!!TOO MUCH € !!!

sure ! to be caught with RD cost more and more than the speeding tickets

so you agree that the STI isn't usefull against Multanova ?

Have you tried to contact Target in Belgium? It's my understanding that Target is the primary Euro distributor for Bel products and Target is located in Amsterdam. Maybe they could give you some insight as to how well the STi can work against Multinovas.

oh well it's a good idea ! do you have any links or adress for Target ?

    thanx

If the cops weren't running RDD i would definitely go for a V1 but i'm too scared to be caught with it

Get them both V1 and the STi. STi good for stealth and good for K-band!

The STi is crap againts the 6F due to the 6F been a low power unit, not sure which band they use but over here in Australia they use 6F 34.3Ghz ka-band. Depending how they set it up, if it's an angle on the side you will have no chance. If lucky u might get 1-2 second warning! MAX!!

V1, i have yet to try it out.

Sorry, can't help with that. Since detectors are illegal in Belgium, Target most likely sells via the UK. However, given that you run a risk of significant fines for possession of a detector you would be much safer with a Bel STi.

yes ... i know that detection would be much better with the V1 Euro but since it's not fully Stealth i will get a STI first and wait for an eventually upgrade of the V1

    thanx
